  • Best wind direction: S through SW
  • Soarable wind velocity: 10 to 15 mph
  • Landing field altitude: 350' MSL

  • Top landable at launch and near the summit

Site Rules:

  • USHGA membership required
  • Must be a USHGA rated pilot
  • No paid instruction allowed
  • No firearms or hunting
  • Off road driving is prohibited except for parking at launch
  • Dogs, fires and motorcyles are prohibited
  • Drive slowly and be courteous to the animals
  • Leave all gates as you found them
  • No flying alone
  • Petersons is a USHGA insured site. All normal USHGA sites rules apply

Here you can see part of the landing field. Off to the right of this picture is a road, fence and power lines. Beware of these obstacles when making your landing approach. The field is large, making for a very easy and stress-free landing.

 

Directions to Peterson Butte:

From 1-5 southbound, take the Corvallis/Lebanon exit (Hwy 34). Drive east on Hwy 34 about 3.7 miles. Turn right on Steckley Rd, which becomes Sand Ridge Rd and follow 2.7 miles passing Sand Ridge Cemetery. Turn left into the driveway at the 35 mph curve sign ( right before the green barn ). Follow this road all the way up to launch. Leave all gates as you found them ( open or closed ).
